McDougall Insurance & Financial

Payment Options

For your convenience, McDougall Insurance provides a range of payment options. At McDougall, flexibility, accommodation and customer satisfaction are our goals. Simply call or email if you have any questions or requests about your payments.

Methods of Payment

There are four main methods of payment.

  • Full payment upon receipt or effective date of the policy.
  • Three post dated cheques: 1/3 down dated the effective date of the policy; 1/3 dated the following month; and 1/3 dated two months after the effective date. There is a $3 handling fee for this option.
  • You can pay directly to the insurance company by monthly withdrawal through your bank or financial institution.
  • For larger premiums, financing contracts are available for monthly payments or automatic withdrawals from your bank account.

Cash Payments

Our clients often come by the office to make cash payments and say hello. You can pay by cash or through our interac machine.

Credit Card Payments

McDougall Insurance Brokers does not accept credit card payments, but some of our insurance companies do accept them directly if the policy is set up for using this method. The best way to make a credit card payment is to call your McDougall contact and pass the information over the phone or in person.

Internet / Telephone Banking

If your bank (one of the 5 major banks) offers on-line or telephone banking you can select McDougall Insurance as a payee and pay your bill this way.

Automatic Withdrawal

One of the most popular methods of payment is automatic withdrawal. Most of our insurance companies offer this option and the majority charge a 3% financing fee to do it. It is very simple to set this up. We require a signed and dated authorization form from the individual insurance company along with a void cheque or a confirmation from your bank with the account information. In some cases you can choose your preferred withdrawal date.
