Every day thieves continue to build manipulating ways to gain access to world’s most secret information. These attackers sabotage entire networks, companies and client bases gaining access to the financials of individuals and corporations. Scary, we know!
Not only do companies take the risk of a Cyber-Attack very seriously, but so does the government. In 2011 the U.S. Pentagon had a more proactive approach. They sent out a strong warning to the world, stating, “The Pentagon has concluded that computer sabotage coming from another country can constitute an act of war, a finding that for the first time opens the door for the U.S. to respond using traditional military force” according to the Wall Street Journal.
As if that wasn’t quite explained enough for everyone, the Pentagon followed by saying, “If you shut down our power grid, maybe we will put a missile down one of your smokestacks,” said a military official.
Unfortunately for Adobe their approach was less threatening and far more devastating for their company. Adobe experienced their own cyber-attack on 2.9 Million of their loyal customers in October, 2013. Attackers robbed customers of their personal information and even worse, their encrypted credit card numbers and pin numbers. After an announcement from Adobe’s Chief Security Officer on October 3, 2013, the company is actively trying to rebuild their trust and reputation. See the blog below to get the full story and Adobe’s outlook for the future.
