Insurance is considered an essential service, as such we have now set up all of our staff to work from home.

Dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic is now our number one priority.

We have created a list of frequently asked questions we have been receiving regarding COVID 19 and this list will continue to be updated as more information becomes available.

Are your offices still open?

We are available to serve you, but our offices are closed to the public. We have now set up all of our staff to work from home. The best way to communicate with us is through email. You can see our entire staff list including emails by visiting: Staff Profiles

COVID 19 is causing me financial hardship – What do I do?

If you are having trouble financially because of COVID 19, please call or email your individual broker. We are your advocate for the insurance company for claims, payments, everything related to insurance. Some insurance companies are delaying payments, but they are looking at it on a case by case basis. We will do everything we can to help.

I had to close my commercial business, what do I need to do while I am shut down?

Every insurance company is different, but Business owners should be checking their properties every day during the shut-down period. Pay particular attention to sump pumps. Consider shutting off the water if it is practical. For a full list of tips click: how to avoid a claim during COVID-19?

What do I do if I have a claim?

Please call or email your broker. We will take care of you the same way we always have. We will contact the insurance company on your behalf and advocate for you until the claim is settled.

You can also submit a claim through our MyMcDougall platform.

Is there a way to make changes to my policy 24 hours a day and 7 days per week?

There sure is! You just need to sign up for our MyMcDougall platform.

How is McDougall Insurance protecting their clients and staff?

Our office is closed to the public.  We have now set up all of our staff to work from home. We also have a regular janitorial team and hand sanitizing stations in all of our offices.

We are also encouraging best practices for our staff when it comes things such as washing your hands thoroughly and more frequently.

COVID-19 Update

We are doing our utmost to protect our customers and our staff.

Two of our offices in Oshawa and Courtice have been closed to the public. We are taking precautions at this time based on the proximity to the GTA. These offices will still be operating, however we are allowing no clients inside. Our priority is keeping our staff and clients healthy and safe.
