Meet the Dougallers features: Catharine Wright

Cathy has been a bright spot in the insurance industry for over 40 years! She was the deserving winner of our Legendary Service award for the month of September. Cathy services a unique client group, working on the Corporate Risk and Bonds portfolio. This portfolio certainly has its challenges but that does not stop her from endlessly going the extra mile to assist her clients. So we know Cathy is good, scratch that great, when it comes to insurance but we want to know what Cathy does when she is not thinking insurance.

So we asked her:

Place of birth?

I was born in Kingston, Ontario.

Hobbies?

Travelling use to be my biggest hobby but I haven’t been able to lately with the COVID-19 pandemic. I also enjoy boating on the St Lawrence River, gardening, reading and Qi Gong.

Ok, wait a minute what is Qi Gong?

It is a form of Yoga that originated in Asia and translates to energy work.

Favorite food and why?

I’m known as a “Foodie” amongst family and friends because I love to gather everyone together (now in smaller groups) to eat, drink and have fun. I do love a good steak, seafood, stuffed chicken, pizza, salad..pretty much all food. Enjoying a meal with friends and family in a good atmosphere can make any dish delicious.

Favorite movie and why?

Bridges over Madison County – cause Client Eastwood is in it!!

One thing we should know about you?

I love the St Lawrence River. It is wonderful place to call home.

How did you get involved in insurance?

I sent out resume’s everywhere and to several different industries and an insurance office happened to take notice and hire me. I didn’t even know what insurance was then.

What do you bring to the table to help your clients?

I have years of experience in the industry and have acquired the knowledge and expertise of the commercial side of the business. I also have a genuine basic desire to help others.

What do you think is important in a relationship with a client?
