2021 Year End Review
2021 marked a memorable year for McDougall Insurance. Certainly some challenges along the way with the ongoing pandemic but 2021 marked the 75th anniversary for McDougall Insurance. So with that lets get into our 2021 Year End Review.
75th Anniversary
We have always been committed to the communities we are apart of and in our 75th year we wanted to make sure that we made contributions in all of our branch locations. We donated $75,000 to various charities all across Ontario in 2021.
McDougall Family Fund
We ran our 8th annual McDougall Family Fund in 2021. We had more entries than ever before and were fortunate to award 3 amazing charities.
1st Glowing Hearts Charity Backpacks for Youth – $5,000
Congratulations to Glowing Hearts Charity for winning our Family Fund contest! Glowing Hearts won $5,000 and is using the money to provide backpacks and back to school supplies for youth in need.
2nd Barrie Families Unite – $3,000
Congratulations to Barrie Families Unite for placing 2nd in our Family Fund contest! Barrie Families Unite won $3,000 and is using the money to provide warming centres, food and clothing to families in need.
3rd Place Kash Kreations – $2,000
Congratulations to Kash’s Kreations for placing 3rd in our Family Fund contest! Kash won $2,000 and is donating half to Fixed Furlife and using the other half to start his own project.
Ross McDougall Celebrates 50 Years at McDougall
In addition to our 75th anniversary our CEO Ross McDougall also celebrated 50 years working for McDougall Insurance. A very big accomplishment and a tremendous achievement.
McDougall Days of Summer
This year we continued our McDougall Days of Summer giveaways. Our clients could go to local businesses and show their proof of insurance or MyMcDougall app and receive a free item. Anything from a bag of bird seed to a slice of pizza! This year we had over 200 local businesses participating in the campaign.
Feed the Frontline
The pandemic has been difficult for everyone but we wanted to highlight some local heroes in our community. We partnered with Commonwell Insurance to giveaway 30 vouchers for $100 grocery meals to frontline workers. This was a small gesture to show our appreciation to individuals who have been working throughout the pandemic.
Big Grant for Small Business
We partnered with our insurance partner Grenville Mutual to bring back the Big Grant for Small Business campaign. We gave-away a total of $10,000 to 3 businesses who were impacted by the pandemic. To see the full list of winners go to our Big Grant for Small Business page.
1st Place Buell Street Bistro – $5,000
2nd Place Tease Hair Studio – $3,000
3rd Place Millbrook Merchantile – $2,000
Holiday & Christmas Donations
The holiday season is meant to be a joyous time for all! However, many families and individuals struggle during this time of year. Like every year we do a food or toy drive in our local offices to help supply the local food banks or families in need with the supplies to enjoy the holidays.
This year we also donated $44,000+ to the United Way Hastings & Prince Edward as well.
Our staff also came up with a very creative idea which we call Santa for Seniors. We create little gift bags for seniors who are unable to or do not have any family members to share the holidays with. Our local retirement homes have loved the idea and we hope to continue it in the future!

Great job! Can you sponsor children who have lost their dad tragically, like my own son who is at a green belt in Marshall Arts and wants to complete it to fulfill one of his Father’s dream?
Thanks In Advance!
