Meet the Dougallers: Sarra Gratton
Meet the Dougallers welcomes Sarra Gratton from our Sudbury office! We wanted to find out a little more about Sarra and what got her into the insurance industry. So we sat her down and asked her. Enjoy!
Place of birth?
Born & raised in Sudbury, ON. I love Sudbury – the lifestyle, the people, and I love to call it home!
Hobbies?
I have been training in Kuk Sool-Hap Kido for 18 years, I currently am a third degree black belt. I previously competed on Team Canada for WKC, the World Karate & Kickboxing Commission for 8 years and I am a 3x World Champion. I continue to train and teach in my spare time. – Now that is bad ass!
I also love to be outdoors whether it be hiking, camping, swimming, kayaking, etc. My favourite hiking spot is currently “the Crack” in Killarney, ON. I usually try to hike this trail at least once a year!
Favorite food and why?
Pasta paired with a nice glass of wine! C’mon, it’s tasty, filling and such a comfort food. Plus, it comes in so many varieties so you never get bored of it. My current all-time favourite, I LOVE a good butternut squash ravioli.
Favorite saying?
My favourite saying is to, “say YIKES & move on”, It gets me through the rough days. If you visit my office, you will notice this quote hung up among my many other inspirational quotes and pictures.
Favorite movie and why?
The Breakfast Club – It’s a classic!
One thing we should know about you?
I have a crippling caffeine addiction. If you ever hear me ask for decaf, I am signally that I have been kidnapped and need assistance getting to safety.
How did you get involved in insurance?
I have a family friend who is an insurance broker who suggested I join the field. With my years of administration experience, when I saw a receptionist position open up – I jumped to the opportunity. Since then, I quickly worked up to becoming a Personal Lines Account Manager and I haven’t looked back.
What do you bring to the table to help your clients?
I genuinely care about all my clients. I try to treat all my clients like I would want my friend or family member to be treated. When I hear clients get married or buy their first home, I genuinely get excited for them.
What do you think is important in a relationship with a client?
Trust & Honesty. My job is to educate all my clients so they can feel confident making an informed decision for themselves or their family when it comes to their insurance needs. Connecting with my clients personally and getting to them know is the best way to help them protect themselves and their assets. Need trust and honest on both ends to do my job!
Favourite celebrity?
Despite my social media addiction, I don’t really follow celebrities so I don’t have a favourite. However, I must say my current celebrity crushes would be Jason Momoa or Chris Evans. I mean you have eyes, just look at them!
Thanks for chatting Sarra, we are lucky to have you on the McDougall Insurance team! Sarra is also passionate about social media and runs the McDougall Tik Tok account and other social media content. If you want to connect with Sarra you can find her on Instagram here, visit our Sudbury office, or shoot her an email at [email protected].
If you don’t love dealing with Sarra Gratton for your insurance then take a hike! Just kidding, unless you want to visit her favourite spot “The Crack” in Killarney provincial park!
