Welcome Drayden Insurance to the McDougall Insurance Team

We are thrilled to announce that we have merged with Drayden Insurance Ltd. in Alberta, Canada! This is our first ever interprovincial merger.

Drayden is a well-respected name in Alberta. They have a rich history dating back to 1965. There head office is in Edmonton with 8 total locations and 170 talented staff. Drayden’s premium volume is around $125 million annual, they also carry on a Registry operation, which can be best summarized as Alberta’s version of Service Ontario, handling items like vehicle registrations and licensing. All Drayden employees and operational management will remain with Drayden and all their offices and names will remain unchanged.

Drayden has long standing and great relationships with their insurance companies, much like ourselves, with their top markets being Wawanesa, Intact, Economical, and Pembridge, as well as several firms that operate primarily in Western Canada.

Our very own Ross McDougall was excited about the merger and has this to say, “this transaction will give McDougall a unique opportunity to expand nationally and immediately establish a leadership position in Alberta’s insurance broker market.”

This merger will position McDougall Insurance as one of the very largest insurance brokers in Canada with 65 office locations, $860 million in premium and 860 employees. We couldn’t be more excited about what this means for our brokerage, our staff and our clients.
