My Driving Discount – Intact Insurance
Intact Insurance offers a unique way to save you money on your car insurance! How you ask? Through the My Driving Discount, which is a smartphone app that assesses your driving habits and rewards you when you do a good job.
How does the My Driving discount work?
When you enroll for the program you receive a 10% discount right off the top. Then you set up the smartphone app and each time you drive your vehicle the smartphone app will assess your driving ability and provide you with a score. After 6 months if the program deems that you are a good driver you can receive up to a 25% discount at your renewal.
What if the My Driving app thinks I am a bad driver?
If the program thinks you need some work on your driving there is no penalty you simply lose the 10% enrollment discount and are right back where you started!
What driving habits does the My Driving app assess?
The platform looks at several factors but focuses primarily on:
- Distracted driving (how often you are handling your phone while driving)
- Hard braking and fast accelerating
- Speed
- Time of day you are driving
