Smile, it is something that Patti Middleton always seems to be doing. Insurance to many is something that renders no emotion, and despite its perceived boring or dull background that all changes with Patti. She has this way of making it fun and friendly.
Do you want to smile when it comes to your insurance? Then look no further, Patti is perfect! Just check out her profile below to see for yourself.
Name?
Patti Middleton
Place of Birth?
Patti was born in the Nation’s Capital, Ottawa. She moved to Belleville at the age of 12 and considers Belleville to be her home town and a great place to have a family.
Hobbies?
Patti loves the summer time because that means she is able to head outdoors. One of her favourite activities is boating and in the summer time she takes full advantage. Patti doesn’t stop there! If you are awake at 5 in the morning you will likely find Patti at the gym or going for a run to get a good sweat on, and the weird part about it, she will still be smiling while she does it.
Patti acknowledges that nothing puts a bigger smile on her face than getting to spend time with her husband, Mark, and their daughter, Samantha, along with their two miniature schnauzer dogs, Charlie and Bella.

Favourite food?
Like many of us Patti’s favourite food is a good ol’ pizza. She is not shy to try different combinations or funky toppings to change things up… as long as they are not spicy!
Favourite saying?
Patti always has a relaxed, cheerful demeanor to her, which is why her favourite saying is “No worries”. When it comes to dealing with her clients, well “no worries”, Patti will have you taken care of with her knowledge and expertise!
One thing you wish everyone knew about you?
Patti is a mother, a wife, an aunt, a sister, and a career woman. One thing you might not have known about her is that she is also a cancer survivor, twice! Cancer is something that has affected almost everyone in some way. Patti reminds us to always live life to its fullest because you never know with a disease like cancer. And through all of it she still remembers to smile!
How did you get involved in insurance?
Patti’s good friend, Carol Wiggins suggested she should come in for an interview at McDougall Insurance Brokers. At the time Patti knew nothing about insurance other than it was a bill she paid for something she had to have. Of course she charmed her way through the interview with that invigorating smile and landed the job. She found out more about the business and has become an expert in personal lines sales. Patti has been at McDougall’s since 2002 and hasn’t looked back.
What do you think is important in a relationship with a client?
Patti likes that clients know they are dealing with a real person, so the relationship is more than just an insurance policy. She hopes all of her clients are proud to have her as their insurance broker. Patti enjoys when she sees her clients in the community and that they are familiar with each other and can share a smile and a “hello”. She attributes this to the small town feel of Belleville and believes it is nice to know who you are dealing with because for many people that relationship does not exist with their insurance provider. On that note Patti is always here when her clients need her most going on to add; no one ever thinks they will be affected by a claim, but when there is a loss she wants them to know she’s here and will help them recover from it.
What do you bring to the table to help your clients?
Knowledge. Through years of experience and knowledge of the area she lives in. Patti has a very approachable and personable personality, which makes her clients feel at ease when dealing with their insurance. Patti admits it is nice to be able to get to know the people she is insuring and really discover what their insurance needs are. Acknowledging that her awesome client relationships are made even better through her team member, Anie, who services her accounts. They have a fun and efficient work ethic to deliver the ultimate customer experience.
Anything else you would like to add?
The final thing Patti would like to add is that she does a lot of work through the local Belleville General Hospital Foundation, to help raise money for needed care and equipment. If you would like to help support the BGHF click here. It is important to give back and Patti understands this. She has used the hospital, and knows her family and friends have, and will continue using the hospital. It is nice to have the care and equipment right here at home.
